Nate and I will probably celebrate New Year's Eve together and low-key. We'll go eat at one of our favorite eating establishments in Salt Lake City {nothing too fancy please} and then retire home where we'll listen to a lot of music and celebration on some TV station. I used to feel a lot of pressure to do something big and special but the older I get the more I appreciate rolling under the radar.
Since New Year's Eve is all about the music, I thought I'd share a few gems I found on YouTube from Duffy. Enjoy.

MERRY CHRISTMAS: BRIT STYLE
Christmas. I blinked and it was gone. Nate and I spent the holiday with our families in Logan. It was cold and snowy; just the way Christmas should be. We even got an obligatory snow storm on Christmas eve that left everything absolutely beautiful. Caught a cold? Check. Played Rock Band and watched movies with family? Check. Shopping with my mom? Check. Nate hit the slopes? Check. Cool rocker converse shoes? Check. Tickets to a reunited Blur concert in Hyde Park London? CHECK!
That's right. Nate surprised me with tickets to the reunion tour in London. Look out Britain...I'll be rocking with you in July!

DEAR GWYNETH
Remember when we first met; before we became best friends? We went to lunch that one time and you had some macrobiotic salad and I ate a juicy steak. We were both jealous of the other. It was after we shared the carob chocolate cake that you told me you were thinking about making a website that talks about all the stuff you like. You did it. Hooray!
IT'S A BLIZZARD OUT THERE!

FRANZ FERDINAND
Nate and I went to Vegas last weekend to see Franz Ferdinand perform at the Hard Rock Casino. This band is one of the best I've seen on stage; a lot of energy and they truly look and act like rock stars. I dare you NOT to jump up and down when they sing Take Me Out!
Here are a few pics from the weekend of glutenous rock and rolla!

MY DOPPLEGANGER
I have two distinct personalities. One likes to wear pretty, feminine things; read classic literature; eat at nice restaurants; sleep plenty; and get pedicures. The other likes rock and roll, concerts, going days without makeup, energy drinks, and spending time outside. Guess which one wants these shoes for Christmas?

They are sold out at converse.com but you can find them at kiqzoo.com. If you want them, they are called Jack Purcell Black Sabbath {rock on!}

CHRISTMAS LOUNGEWEAR
How many of us have grown up with the same tradition? The one where you get a new set of pretty pajamas on Christmas eve. It was one of my favorite things and whether it was a nightgown with Barbie or ET, I always slept better that night. There's just nothing like new pajamas.
I'm posting this in hopes that Nate will get desperate for Christmas ideas, read this, and get me one of these cute items. I need a good night's sleep! All these beauties are from Anthro.

I'M DREAMING OF A PAPERWHITE CHRISTMAS
Senior Cottage Living Gardening Editor, Kate Karam, did a great story on forcing paperwhite bulbs and giving them as gifts for the holidays. I fell in love with this idea. Yesterday I stocked up on bulbs and I bought lots of plain white pots from Ikea. Tomorrow I'll plant them and keep them inside in a darker corner of my home. I'm trying to stunt their growth a bit so they don't get too impossibly tall. If I plant them now they'll have about 2 weeks growth {up to about 6-8 inches} before I give them away. I'll post photos when I get things going tomorrow.
CHURCH ADVERTISING NETWORK
Many churches across the UK have created ads to promote church attendance. I heard these on NPR {of course} and couldn't stop giggling when I heard these 30 second radio spots.Christmas story told in 30 seconds:
-Football Match
-Horse Race
I found them here.
