GOT IT; LOVE IT
Got this rug after it went on sale at William Sonoma Home. I unrolled it into our front room and I instantly fell in love with it. It's so plush and it makes the room feel very cozy.
PARIS HILTON AT CHA
I talked the security guard into letting me into the area with paparazzi. It was all sorts of "Us Weekly" and "People" photographers mixed with me and my little Canon point and shoot. I yelled out her name a few times but I think my voice reflected off her ginormous Hello Kitty necklace. My summary of the event? Paris is a tiny person. Not just skinny but her stature is slight. She's pretty though, I'll give her that.
HOORAY FOR LILLY FAITH FREY!

DAYBREAK TRIATHLON

Swim. Bike. Run. We registered. Looks like between now and September Nate and I will be working hard for our triathlon bodies. Finally, a Daybreak Triathlon.
FILM FESTIVAL BUSIES
Nate and I have seen seven movies this last week which explains why I haven't posted at all. We actually had tickets for a documentary this afternoon but chose not to go. We just couldn't swing it with work. We saw great movies, nothing disappointing or vulgar which is a rarity. Hooray for Sundance.
We were lucky enough to see Jack White in a documentary called, "It Might Get Loud". I stepped into the isle of the theater and took his photo. That he didn't punch me in the face tells me he liked me right off the bat. We also saw a documentary called, "Good Hair" directed by Chris Rock and wouldn't you know it...he showed up afterward for Q&A. We were spoiled this year.

p.s. wow, i have a pointy chin.

LOVE THE SPARROW

This hoodie is adorable. I'm gonna have to save up my pennies and consider adding this to my wardrobe. Anyone who knows me knows my hoodies are often over worn. I explained to my friend Ryan the other day that I am a creature of habit. If I find something I like I don't hesitate to wear it as often as possible. To the point of feeling like I have a personal relationship with the item. I'm currently seeing a certain pair of USU sweatpants my sister gave at Christmas. It's getting serious!
DANCING AT A CLUB
When I'm dancing at a club I am pretty sure I look nothing like this on the dance floor. But in my mind, you can sure bet I think I do.

SUNDANCE FESTIVAL + WORK
I'll be spending a bit of time in Park City this weekend. Nate and I saw the premier of "It Might Get Loud" a documentary about the electric guitar. It featured Jack White (of The Raconteurs and White Stripes), Jimmy Page (of Zeppelin), and The Edge (of U2). Jack White was in the audience and sitting right across the isle from us. So I snapped a shot.

After the movie Nate and I headed up to the Eco Lodge where we are sponsoring a craft space with Mark Montano {thanks for the cuff Mark}. He did some cool stuff with sharpies and plain white sneakers. He was also screenprinting t-shirts and totes using the Yudu {click the smaller pic of Russell's face to watch a video} and embellishing all sorts of stuff using Cricut. Mark does something he calls "upcycle" which is essentially taking things you already have and making them cool again. Talented guy; without a doubt! If you want DIY ideas, check out his book The Big Ass Book of Craft. We snapped a shot with him. I clearly didn't know which camera to focus on.

Nate and I will be watching Lymlife today in SLC and then we'll head up to Park City again to spend some time with Mark and gang. We'll probably be doing some really great stuff together at CHA next week in LA.

PRETTY THINGS FROM ANTHRO
Love the first dress. I think it would be perfect for the semi-formal dinner Nate and I will attend in Mexico! The sweater in the middle photo is perfect for wearing at work with jeans and a pair of bright colored flats. The last dress I'd wear with a cute short sleeved cardigan and flat sandals when Nate and I take a rock-n-roll tour in London...

SHOW BLISTERS TO THE DOOR
I had HUGE blisters on my feet from walking around CES in inappropriate footwear. These are the only thing I've ever found that simply make blisters feel like they never happened. I vow to keep a few in my purse in case of emergencies.

TOMS: ONE TO ONE
My friend Julie {thanks Jules!} tipped me off on Toms Shoes. You've probably heard of them and know what they are doing. I remember looking into them a few years ago when their selection was much smaller. I'm glad Julie reminded me of their tremendous and generous idea.
When I was in Africa about six years ago I saw so many small little feet wearing men's size 10 flip flops. It was good they had shoes at all but they sure didn't fit properly. They would run like champs and play football {soccer} with them but I don't know quite how they managed it.
Luckily Toms is generously donating one pair to a child in need for every pair you buy. Read their story here. I wish I was doing something this meaningful!
Would love to know if you end up buying a pair.

THE ROADS!!
Tonight my 40 minute commute turned into a 2.5 hour slog through the ice and snow covered roads. Traffic took an unbelievably slow pace and there I was, one of thousands trying to get home to a safe set of arms and a warm meal. Nate had tacos waiting when I got home.

RESOLUTE

adjective
Firmly resolved and determined; set in purpose or opinion.
I didn't sit down with pencil in hand and write down my 2009 goals but I have thought about them a lot. Here is a sneak preview.
1. Live healthy. (Drink water. Sleep plenty. Wake early. Eat smart. Work out)
2. Send birthday cards.
3. Live outward.
4. Write every day.
5. Learn something creative {paint, screenprint, bookbind, upholstery}.
6. Be grateful everyday.
7. Run.
8. Be frugal.
9. Anxiety. Manage it.
10. Go unabashedly gang-busters at work.
LOVE THESE JEANS
If I meet my goal and lose another 10 pounds in the next 45 days, I'm getting these jeans! I have some pink cords with a similar cut and I really like 'em.
DREAMING OF FEBRUARY
Last year it was Kauai. This year we are hitting the Mayan Riviera as part of Nate's pat on the back for doing a good job at work. We are staying at the Fairmont and I expect it will be entirely too decadent. If you have any suggestions for places to visit and things to see, let me know.
