Amie just confidently waltzed into my grey cubical this morning and announced that she was attending the Sundance Film Festival Opening Gala tomorrow night. I dug down deep to where my Christian upbringing taught me not to envy other people but celebrate what they have and cheered for her forthcoming opportunity to run into the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Molly Shannon, Julie Christie and the ultimate...Robert Redford.
The very next question that both of us asked was, "what to wear". I suggested a black suit, heals, fabulous button down and some pearls. That way she wouldn't be too dressy almong all the stars, nor would she look like someone to give your drink order to. What do you think? Dress? Suit? We need suggestions and we need them FAST!

Black is a classy and safe color. Is this event outside? If it is, she may want to wear boots, scarf and a hat? In an accent color, like grey (conservative) or red (a little flashy).
Amie is as cute as a bug. She'll fit right in with all the other pretty faces. I suggest some sort of casual little black dress--check out "Sienna goes Roman" and "Maggie's little black dress" on frugal-fahionista.blogspot.com. Both good looks, though I don't recommend the gladiator sandals or over-patterned tights. Maybe some flats would make a good choice (depending on her height) since they help keep the look casual and simple.
