VALERIE IS THE NEW SALLY

Yeah, I still get the whole, "you look like Sally Fields" comment all the time. VERY often. And from all walks of life. By friends, co-workers, strangers coming up to me off the street. And it's been going on for years. So I think Sally and I will always have the strongest connection. Also strengthened by the fact that my dad used to call me Sally during my growing up years. Coincidence?
However, while Nate and I were going through the Reno airport, one of the security guards pointed at me and yelled loudly, "Hey! You look like that Bertinelli lady." At this point my blood pressure had shot up to life threatening heights because I thought he was accusing me of smuggling in a bomb and was going to haul me into the clinker. So I just smiled, and laughed. As I made my way, hopping on one foot while struggling to put my shoes back on, he followed it up with, "That was meant to be a compliment. She's a pretty lady."
After watching Valerie's tell-all on Oprah I realize we've got a lot in common. Not just the same brown hair and eyes, round cheeks and pointy chin. She's blunt and honest and self deprecating. Definitely not afraid to laugh at herself.
So here's to my new look-alike. Maybe she's going through an airport somewhere hearing a security guard yell out, "Hey! You look like that Tonia lady." Probably not, but I like to think so.

Ever been told you look like someone? I'd love to hear.

Addendum: I'll take the chubby Bertinelli ANY DAY over this painful display.

i can see the resemblance, though i still think you are prettier! i still get told that i look like sandra bullock, and someone even said mischa barton. i don't see it, especially on days i am feeling that special 'mommy' kind of pretty.

I've been told Madonna, only once! and Sharon Stone several times. Pretty weird, I can't see it at all. Has anyone ever told you you look like Kelly Clarkston? Just kidding, you hate it when people say that, right?!

Jenna, I can totally see the Sharon Stone. But not when she has butchy hair. I see Sharon Stone circa late nineties when she has long pretty blond hair and just glows. Yup. That Sharon Stone.
Thank you for remembering about Kelly. Me NO LIKEY.

Hey Tonia. I see the Valerie thing, but not Sally fields at all! I'm surprised that people have said that. I get Sarah Jessica Parker a lot. When I worked as a barista, I found out that a whole group of people called me Sarah Jessica behind my back. In high school this one kid always called me "Jenny" (said like Forest Gump) because he thought I looked like her.

Holly, you are so lucky to have beautiful women, Robin Wright and SJP as look-alikes. Trust me,you'll see the Sally thing. Even I see it sometimes.

The only person I've ever gotten is Marisa Tomei...I don't see it but I've been ransacked in places by people trying to tell me this. I haven't heard it in the last few years though....

My Heritage wouldn't provide me with just a url for you to view your celebrity look alikes, so I'm sending you the html code through email - Unfornately, no Valerie, and yes, Kelly Clarkson was in your top five. Eeek. But it was a great picture of her, so that's probably why! Your number one match was a little chick from Lizzy McGuire, Lalaine. I must say, even though she was born in 1987, you do look a lot like her! She's cute as a button too...

I get Neve Cambpell...Everywhere and anywhere I go. And I truly hate it. She looks like an ape. Oh well.

Oooh just realized you don't have an emailed posted - hmmm...

Email me if you wanna see it...

I get the Sandra Bullock most often, and when I was younger, Claire Danes. Now as I'm watching reruns of My So-Called Life online at abc.com, I am SO seeing it.
There's an old picture on Bree's myspace page that looks like Posh Spice. She hates when I say that.

I'm pretty that mine are all hair related. Daniel Day Lewis and Jesus are the front runners. Luckily no one expects to see Jesus at the airport so there aren't those uncomfortable outbursts.

And to save Brandi from any identity confusion:

Oh, on the contrary Tim! I sometimes expect to see Jesus at the airport. I mean, time and space travel have to get pretty humdrum. Maybe he wants to slum it once in a while.

I used to get Meryl Streep A LOT when I was in my early 20's - didn't do much for my self esteem since she was in her 50's at the time. Then I started getting Caroline Bessette Kennedy, and like Tim, I think it was mostly hair related. Now that my hair is shorter, darker and I've gained 15 pounds the comments I get most often are "Your daughter is beautiful!" - and I'm okay with that.

Once I got Christina Applegate. Another time, Lauren Graham. Another time, Ellen Pompeo. Another time, Edie Sedgwick. Another time, Lindsey Lohan in Parent Trapped. (That last one made me angry because I was like 24 and the last thing I wanted was to be told I looked like a 12-year-old.)

I'm always told I look young. "You're too young to be married," they say. And then, just yesterday, I'm with my mom and the lady at the store says we could be sisters. I guess I'm taking that as a compliment to my mother. :)

I still think you look like Helena Christensen.

p.s. Sorry for the off-topic novel.

p.p.s. To make this whole thing come full circle, my mom gets Sally Fields all the time. But you look nothing like her, from what I can tell.

Yeah..someone once told me that I look like that really ugly freckly cirl on "Arachnaphobia".

I would take Sally Fields any day over who I CONSTANTLY get told I look like, by EVERYONE...Molly Ringwald.

Weel, for years growing up pepople said I looked like Ione Skye (remember her?), which is mostly hair and big-smile related, and now recently I've been getting the older sister from Ugly Betty (also hair & big smile related). And...you are way hotter than Valerie and no where near as homely as Sally.
