A PROUD DAY

My cute mom started college in 1991 {when my youngest brother Andrew started kindergarten}. On Saturday, May 5, 2007 she walked across the stage and received her B.S. degree in Family, Consumer and Human Development with an emphasis on Community Services. She worked full time in the evenings so she could take classes she needed during the day. I really appreciate her determination and the example she set of the importance of education and reaching your goals!
On top of it all she remained a devoted grandma attending soccer games and school programs and, with my dad's help, continued to take care of my severly handicapped brother Scott {who is 34}. She looked beautiful and scholarly in her cap and gown and had family as far away as Wisconsin and Oregon come to ring the cowbells and clap and cheer as her name was read! Hooray for my mom. I am so proud of her!

I admire her stick-to-it-ivness. And she looks pretty dang cute in her cap and gown.

Was she the one Pres. Albrecht talked about during the commencement ceremony? That's so cool! What an exciting weekend (and LaShel looked cute with her belly under her gown!)

Deidra, she WAS the one Pres. Albrecht talked about during commencement. Wasn't that so cool? I got her on tape looking all shocked and embarassed!
I'm waiting for a photo of LaShel and then I'll post about her!

That is so neat, your mom sounds like an amazing lady - probably runs in the family, eh?
